Hi,
Karen got back to me. She wasn’t judging. She, Gina and Jane were doing a class.
She said it looked like there were about 400 people. She said that Scottsdale sang, so that’s about 100 people, and San Diego sang too. They only had about 30 people there! They had 150 people sign up for their class, so if you add all that up, it could reach 400. She said she heard they lost money too!

I talked with Amanda who said there were more people than last year but then it is their summer education weekend. She didn't know how many but contest was in a hotel ballroom. If we could have held ours at fall regional we would have had a better audience too. They had a great time, more queens there and champions - but then Region 21 HAS queens and 3 chorus champions and they invited their friends who are also queens.

Hi Wendy,
As far as attendees, I think the key is when Ruth mentioned below that they tied it in with their summer education weekend. I think that is the point we missed when we tied the Rising Star into just our RQA event that usually has a smaller audience than our Regional Weekends. When I recently attended the HXNE2015 camp, it was clear to me that we had a packed auditorium because BHS tied the event into their Harmony College weekend and of course many of the parents of the students attended as well. Although we try to advertise as much as possible, I think we recognize our biggest audience comes from our own ranks and in that case, all 3 orgs: BHS, SAI, Harmony, Inc.
